David & Suzanne become Mr & Mrs Dempsie

Today’s wedding was themed around films, a movie theme, red was prominent throughout, and it was awesome, I love red. I felt welcome from the offset, both Suzanne & David were a pleasure to photograph, nothing too much trouble, a great couple. David started the entertainment early when he forgot to bring the legal documents to allow them to marry, he found out with about 30 mins to spare, luckily the day was saved by a guest to rushed back to get them just as the bonnie bride was about to arrive.

Frustratingly the heavens opened which was a fear for Suzanne as she really worried about her photos, the grass was way to soggy to venture to the wonderful park for photos, and this added to the torrential downpours made the decision to stay in the venue easy.  We were in the Alona hotel at Strathclyde park, adjacent to the famous M&Ds funfair, Ian the very professional and amazing MC, Manager of the Alona,  told us we could use the funpark for photos, wow, my mind went into over drive,  film theme perfection I thought, I could see both Suzanne and David were equally as keen. So off we went to the american themed diner, and the carousel to capture some treasured memories, that complimented the wonderful day.

The Alona hotel is quickly becoming a favoured venue of mine to work, the staff are truly outstanding and genially go the extra mile to make sure the brides day is magical, they didn’t need to suggest use of the funfair and bowling alley, they could easily have let me sweat as the photographer, but they didn’t, they accommodated us, personally I think these wee touches and gestures are what separate great venues from good ones.  The scran is delicious as well. The Alona hotel is run so efficiently, like a well oiled machine, defo a venue worth checking out if you are at the planning stage.

Like my past blogs when I meet fellow professionals who impress, I like to give them a wee mention, Alan Tait www.alantaitmakeup.co.uk had the job of beautifying the beautiful ladies and he did an awesome job, he was a lovely fella, and I enjoyed seeing him work, give his page a wee like and check him out.

here is a wee selection of photos of the day, enjoy
